Siomai is one of the popular food in the Philippines, you would see it in every corner of MRT stations and Shopping Malls. One of my fondest memories back in the days, my Dad used to buy us 100 pcs of Henlin on weekends for our Lunch or Dinner. It’s affordable and easy snack for every Filipino commuters. But the Siomai craze didn’t start from this, it was influenced by Chinese heritage,  that is usually served in Dim sum and would be filled in with minced pork, shrimp wrapped in wanton wrapper. Filipino version of Siomai are often served with Soy sauce with Calamansi or Toyomansi, on top of that the Garlic Chili oil.

Having said that,  at home we created a healthy version of Siomai.
